Sirius provides a modern method for examining the corneal surface which provides a colour topographic map in several formats and is extremely valuable for determining corneal thickness, the presence of astigmatism, and any suspicion of keratoconus or corneal ectasia. It is also used for monitoring patients before and after laser vision correction.
Combining both a topographer and a tomographer, the device measures the curvature and thickness of the cornea within seconds and generates a 3D corneal map. This non-contact examination detects even the smallest irregularities on the corneal surface, which is crucial for the early diagnosis of keratoconus.
Sirius is also used to record pupillary reactions and to calculate contact lenses for patients who have chosen this method of vision correction.
Advantages:
- Fast and precise examination – analyzes the entire anterior segment of the eye in about 1-2 seconds
- Early detection of eye condition, identifying even minimal corneal irregularities
- Essential for refractive surgery planning
- Reliable long-term monitoring of corneal conditions
