Post-procedure care

A quick recovery, minimal risk of complications, and good results depend on proper care following an eye procedure. That’s why it is essential to follow all your specialist’s instructions carefully.

  • Follow the prescribed schedule for applying eye drops (antibiotics, anti-inflammatory, or moisturizing). Hygiene is especially important — wash your hands before applying drops and maintain overall cleanliness. Failure to follow this may lead to serious infections and complications.
  • Protect the eye from contamination and injury.
  • Avoid dirty or dusty environments.
  • Wearing protective sunglasses is recommended when weather conditions require it.
  • Do not engage in strenuous physical activity — avoid heavy lifting, swimming, and active sports in the first few days after the procedure.
  • Do not wash your eyes with tap water.
  • Do not use makeup, lotions, or other cosmetics during the period recommended by your doctor.
  • Avoid getting soap or shampoo in your eye
  • Attend all follow-up appointments — they are important for monitoring the healing process.

It is normal to feel slight discomfort after an eye procedure. However, if you experience:

  • Severe pain
  • Loss or sudden deterioration of vision
  • Intense redness
  • Swelling
