After the operation:
You will remain under medical observation at the clinic for approximately 2 hours, after which you will be able to go home with an escort.
You will have an eye dressing or a protective shield placed on the day of the operation; your doctor may also recommend wearing the protective shield when you sleep during the recovery period.
At home:
You will be prescribed eye drops for daily application.
You should be careful in the following weeks and avoid getting soap in your eyes, swimming, and applying makeup.
It’s normal to experience tearing and mild discomfort for a few days after the surgery. Avoid rubbing or pressing your eye.
If needed, you can use your old glasses. After one month, once the eye has recovered, you can have your vision checked to determine if new glasses are necessary.
Do not engage in strenuous physical activity for at least 30 days after the operation.
It is advisable to wear sunglasses in bright sunlight.
Avoid working in a polluted environment for at least the first 10 days after the operation.
After a few days, most of the discomfort should subside. Full healing often occurs within eight weeks.
