YAG Ultra Q™ Laser

The fastest and most efficient laser for treating secondary cataracts

Ultra Q™ is the fastest YAG laser in the world, with a firing rate of 3 shots per second, which allows shorter, more efficient treatments. Its capabilities allow capsulotomy and iridotomy procedures to be performed at lower, more efficient power levels with greater effect.

Laser Capsulotomy
Used to treat secondary cataract, which can occur months or years after cataract surgery.

Laser Iridotomy
Used in the treatment of angle-closure glaucoma.

Advantages

  • Optimised optics and precise targeting mean greater accuracy
  • Designed for improved safety and reliability over the long term—less downtime, fewer risks
  • Can help speed up visual recovery because the treatment is more efficient and less invasive
  • In capsulotomy:
    • the risk of damage to the intraocular lens is significantly reduced. This is especially important for lenses that correct presbyopia. In cases where the intraocular lens is multifocal, selective capsulotomy performed with Ultra Q™ allows for refinement of refractive outcomes.
  • In iridotomy
    • Ultra Q™ enables the creation of a precise iridotomy size, often with a single shot that uses less energy than other YAG lasers.
