Before the operation, the patient should not have eaten for at least 6 hours.
On the day of the operation, the patient must provide:
Personal ID
Laboratory tests: complete blood count (CBC), Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate (ESR), blood sugar. (For patients taking Sintrom: bleeding time, prothrombin time, INR; for diabetics: blood sugar profile, glycated hemoglobin/HbA1c)
ECG and cardiologist consultation; for patients under 18 years old – pediatrician consultation.
Endocrinologist consultation.
Allergist consultation – if there is a history or diagnosed allergy.
The listed tests are valid for 7 days prior to the surgery.
If the patient is taking aspirin, antianginal medications (such as anti-stenocardin), and clopidogrel (Trombex) preventatively, they must stop these 3 to 5 days before the operation.
Patients taking Sintrom (Acenocoumarol), Plavix (Clopidogrel), Eliquis (Apixaban), Xarelto (Rivaroxaban), or other anticoagulants must provide a pre-operative consultation with a cardiologist or neurologist, depending on the underlying condition for which the therapy was prescribed.
The patient may take daily medications for general conditions on the day of the operation.
The patient should bring clean pajamas or loungewear and slippers to enter the operating room.
